Monbat starts a sequence of initiatives in cooperation with the National High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences “Acad. Lyubomir Chakalov” in Sofia. A team of three students in 11 class – Mila Getova, Raya Pamukova, Maria Metodieva – created a drone concept for real-time monitoring of fire-hazardous locations in nature. It is processing the data gathered with artificial intelligence and can notify fire commands and other teams for combating natural disasters. Moreover FIXON – the drone prototype – has ultrasound source emitting signals for wild animals in the locations of risk, thus dispelling them. The company is proudly supporting financially the flight of the three students and the physics teacher Svetlana Lazarova to Houston, USA. The team will present their project at Conrad Challenge between 23rd and 26th April 2024 – an international innovation and entrepreneurship competition, named after the Apolo 12 astronaut Charles ‘Pete’ Conrad. The NPMG team will compete with more than 3400 participants (680 teams) from 50+ countries worldwide.

FIXON project has been created in the context of the EU ‘Girls Go Circular’ Initiative and ranked among the three finalists of the “Women and Girls in STEM” in Brussels. Coming back from Conrad Challenge, Maria Metodieva will present it once again in front of European Commission representatives in the framework of the “Digital Education Action Plan Review” forum in Brussels. FIXON project is a unique concept and the team has already applied for patenting it.

In 2024 Monbat will celebrate 65 years from the foundation of the company putting emphasize on initiatives of support for innovations and young talents. The anniversary moto – Lead Leads Innovation – is aimed at drawing the public and stakeholders’ attention to the main challenges of contemporary society and business – clean energy, circular economy, environment protection, the future of energy technologies, etc.

“We are honored and privileged to be able to partner with the NPMG team – one of the most successful schools by the indicator ‘realization of students in innovative sectors’. Monbat has a long history of supporting university students and tutors, and this experience oriented to focus our efforts on an even earlier phase of talent development support. Reaching out to young and hard-working people always creates powerful impulse for change to the better, and we want to be a proactive participant in this change”, commented the executive director of Monbat AD, Mr. Viktor Spiriev.
