Monbat group engineering & contracting subsidiary in Italy – STC – is implementing a system that will save up to 5 million m3 natural gas per year in lead recycling

Corporate

The Italian engineering and contracting company STC – part of Monbat Group – deployed a Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) system on the recycling venue in Serbia (Indjia). Forecasts stipulate an objective annual saving of 1.8M mnatural gas for Monbat Recycling Serbia.

The successful launch of the system in Sebria has motivated Monbat to apply the technology on the recycling venues in Bulgaria and Romania and the final aim is to reach up to 5M m3 natural gas savings annually on group level. The compressor equipment will be delivered by STC on both locations (Montana and Ilfov) in December 2022, and the operation will start in January-February 2023.

Raising prices of natural gas and our irrevocable commitment to sustainability and specifically to the reduction of the carbon footprint motivated us to take this decisive step toward process optimization in the recycling of the main raw material for production. Colleagues from STC succeeded at an extremely professional level and in an extremely short timeframe, for which I thank them. This launch is a clear example of the successful implementation of the model for vertical integration of production in Monbat Group,

Monbat Group CEO Viktor Spiriev commented.

We accepted the challenge very seriously and managed to cope with the extremely short deadlines. Our motivation was high, not only in terms of the professional challenge but due to our personal commitment toward easing the uneasy situation with scarce energy resources in Europe and our firm determination to strive for decreasing the negative effects of industry on climate,

Alberto Bergamaschini, STC Business Development Director, added.
